5NEWS, which is broadcast on KFSM-TV and KXNW-TV, is looking for a motivated, competitive, hard-working Full-Time News Photographer to join our team and work out of our Fort Smith, AR Newsroom. We’re looking for someone who can prove they are not afraid to hustle and be aggressive when it comes to daily and breaking news coverage. Experience and working knowledge of digital videography and non-linear editing is a must. Photographers shoot with Sony PXW-X320 cameras and edit video with Final Cut Pro X.
Experience:
Incumbent must have the ability to shoot video/audio in all kinds of environments and edit under deadline pressure. Ability to operate ENG Microwave equipment, drive a variety of vehicles and set up tripods, lighting equipment, etc. Knowledge of how cameras and accessories operate to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs and maintenance in field, if necessary. Exercise car maintenance (oil changes, cleanliness, etc.) Must possess a valid State Driver's License (or be able to get one) with a clean driving record. Must be willing to submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related Broadcast/Television/Journalism preferred or equivalent Television work experience.
Requirements:
• Insures sound and picture quality of all stories shot.
• Works alone or with a reporter to shoot and edit stories for broadcast.
• Use cellular bonding equipment as well as ENG microwave van and SNG satellite trucks to return video/audio.
• Must be knowledgeable of non-linear digital editing and related programs.
• The ability to read digital and paper maps, and navigate quickly.
• Maintains inventory of all assigned equipment and responsible for its up-keep.
• Examines, maintains, and performs routine maintenance of any assigned vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Special Content Executive Producer
Station: KTHV TV
Location: Little Rock

This person reports directly to the News Director while also working closely with the Assistant News Director and Digital Content Manager to enhance all special content. This content shall include creation of new shows, newscast, special events i.e. Arkansas sports coverage, Sweeps periods content, news specials, community events, weather situations. For creation of new shows and newscast, this person shall be expected to help shape the “look” of the particular show, to work with talent, to create a work schedule from show creation to show launch, to oversee scheduling and rehearsals, to communicate with Digital and Marketing about all show aspects and development. They will also work closely with the show producer to lay out expectations and general guidelines. When special news coverage is required, during large weather moments or special sports coverage—this person should be able to create an “enhanced” coverage plan to go along with the daily news coverage. To lay out details how THV11 coverage of such event shall stand out beyond competition. This may at times require candidate to act as a field producer, overseeing remote live shots and such.
Other daily functions shall include reporter script approval and serving as actual show producer when staffing and resources call for it.
