Is Your Station Prepared?

Consider Your Fuel Needs Now!

Dear ABA Members,

As you are aware, meteorologists have predicted an active Hurricane season in 2020. Thankfully, we don't expect that Arkansas to be directly impacted, but there will likely be indirect impacts to various regions of the country.

Particularly of concern is damage to oil refineries and fuel manufacturing. Sh
ould extensive damage occur, pipeline supplies could become limited. You may recall that we experienced significant fuel supply chain disruptions fifteen years ago in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

At this time, we would like to take the opportunity to remind you — as news gathering organizations—to take a few minutes today to review your operational needs. This would include ensuring your vehicles have fuel, your generators are full, and perhaps that you consider whether to pre-buy additional fuel. It is our goal to ensure you are prepared to continue your operations with little interference during this time.

We know you join us in keeping our gulf state counterpoints in our thoughts.

Thank you.

Instructions for Census Bureau

The Census wants to place ad buys in areas of Arkansas with lower response rates.

You may have read that the NAB has been aggressively seeking federal advertising dollars for local radio and television stations during this very challenging times. The Census Bureau has announced $75 million in funds for possible August and September ad buys.

This is a great opportunity for all of us as local Arkansas broadcasters to submit our stations for these ad dollars. Both the NAB and ABA want to make sure that all of us in Arkansas takes this opportunity and time to pitch our local radio and television stations for these dollars.

We strongly encourage you to please see the links below for the best information on the RFP and how to submit your stations proposals.
