ABA 2017 Convention - July 20-21 - DoubleTree Hotel - Little Rock.

The Arkansas Broadcasters Association’s 2017 Annual Convention is coming up July 20-21 at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Little Rock. The downtown area continues to grow with new development and new restaurants! You won’t be bored!

It’s Almost Convention Time

ABA Meeting to Feature Outstanding Speakers and Entertainment!

The 2017 Convention plans are in place, and we WILL have a series of Engineering Sessions again this year both Thursday morning and afternoon, July 20. Please let your technical folks know that Chris Daniel has arranged for the following:

Thursday July 20, 2017
8:30 am to 10:30 am Audio Processing Presented By Jay Brentlinger of Orban
10:45 am to 12:00 pm Low Latency Digital Broadcast Over Microwave 101 Presented By Mark Kullberg of Hutton Communications (IP Radios)

Lunch Break - Lunch Will Be Provided By The ABA For All Attendees

1:00 pm to 2:30 IP Audio Transport - Robust, Easy, and Secure (Yes, You Can Have It All) Presented By Dave Agnew of GatesAir
2:45 pm to 4:00 pm WebRTC (Remote Control) For Broadcast: What Is It, What It Does, And How It Works Presented by Raul Hun of Comrex

Our sessions begin Thursday afternoon with David Rich's "Contagious Selling" presentation.

We're also going to try (again) to do the Trav's Baseball trip July 20. Advance signup is MANDATORY, but we'll give you several chances to get on board!

SPECIAL REQUEST! Please let us know approximately how many people from your organization will be attending the ballgame! The folks at Dickey Stephens need a fairly accurate headcount. We would appreciate the same information for the meals at the DoubleTree, if possible. It helps us to hold down the cost. We have to guarantee the number of attendees for each meal, and have to pay for meals that are not eaten. Also, we’ll have separate registration for the Engineering Sessions, to help with the meal count there.

Friday morning will feature a roundtable discussion of the importance of the ABA's Broadcast Inspection Program and a presentation on Social Media. Friday afternoon features Speed Mariott of P1 Training. Our Awards Banquet entertainment this year is Ronnie McDowell, continuing the popular theme of bringing back entertainers that many of you remember from your youth; entertainers who deserve to be introduced to a new audience, too!
